Are you looking for great insights, well-researched articles or some inspiration in the realm of UX, then Twitter is a great tool. Of course, finding the right people to follow can be somewhat cumbersome. That is why I curated a list of 21 UX experts who inspire me and keep me up to date with the latest UX news!
Who. Jakob Nielsen is a User Advocate and principal of the Nielsen Norman Group, together with Don Norman. He has invented several usability methods, including heuristic evaluation. He holds 79 United States patents, mainly on ways of making the Internet easier to use. He is the (co-)author of many books, including the famous “Designing Web Usability“.
Why. He is called the guru of Web Page Usability. Jakob Nielsen is using the NNg Twitter account for his posts. Beside the Twitter account, his alertbox is a must-read as well!
Who. Paul Boag is a digital user experience consultant, author and speaker. He helps organisations as diverse as the BBC, European Commission and Nestle, adapt to the digital world. He refocuses them on customer service and meeting the needs of the new generation of connected consumers.
Why. Combine Boagworld, which is the blog curated by Paul Boag and members of the Headscape team, with the Boagworld Podcast, and you’ll get an incredible source of information. Add Paul Boag’s Twitter account to the recipe to finish it off.
Who. Susan is the person to go to when you need to know how to persuade and motivate people to take action. She has a Ph.D. in Psychology and over 30 years of experience as a behavioral scientist. Her clients call her “The Brain Lady” because she applies research on brain science to predict, understand, and explain what motivates people and how they behave.
Why. Susan is an expert in Behavioral Science and author of many books in which she loves to explain how to apply neuroscience to the design of web sites. Two of her best sellers are already on my book shelve: “Neuro Web Design: What Makes Them Click?” and “100 Things Every Designer Needs To Know About People“. She doesn’t send that many tweets out, but still a must-follow.
Who. Aaron is a Product Designer with 11+ years of experience. He combines a background in visual design with a passion and deep understanding of user experience and interaction design to focus his efforts on creating well rounded product experiences. He also speaks at conferences and consult with companies providing design studio and collaborative critique workshops.
Why. Aaron is an avid tweeter, he regularly posts opinions and useful links. If it is not about business, then it’s about Barbecue.
Who. Cennydd is an independent digital product designer with thirteen years’ experience helping companies see the benefits of good design. He has previously worked as design manager at Twitter and senior user experience designer at renowned consultancy Clearleft.
Why. A speaker, coach and author who has a thing or two to say. He is the writer of the well known UX book titled “Undercover User Experience Design“. He tweets frequently, with a nice mix of business and pleasure!
