Of course, finding the right people to follow can be somewhat cumbersome. That is why I curated a list of 21 UX experts who inspire me and keep me up to date with the latest UX news!
Who. Jeff Sauro is the founding principal of MeasuringU, a company providing statistics and usability consulting to Fortune 1000 companies. He specializes in making statistical concepts understandable and actionable. Jeff has published over fifteen peer-reviewed research articles and presents tutorials and papers regularly at the leading Human Computer Interaction conferences.
Why. Jeff Sauro doesn’t have a personal Twitter account but MeasuringU has. You can expect tweets being send out with a rapid pace and always field related!
Who. He is the “Norman” in “Nielsen Norman Group”. His major emphasis is design strategy: how designers and design thinking can help drive both incremental and radical innovation within the company. He is a consultant, speaker and author of many books, such as “The Design of Everyday Things“.
Why. Who doesn’t want to listen to someone with a vast amount of experience in UX? Incredibly interesting person, which is why you should follow him right now!
Who. Luke is currently a Product Director at Google. Earlier he was the CEO and Co-founder of Polar (acquired by Google in 2014) and the Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Bagcheck (acquired by Twitter in 2011). Prior to that, Luke was the Chief Design Architect (VP) at Yahoo!, Lead User Interface Designer at eBay, and a Senior Interface Designer at NCSA. He is also the author of three popular Web design books.
Why. Luke is well known in the UX community because of his experience and track record. His tweets are a great reflection of that!
Who. Joshua Porter is Director of UX at HubSpot, which acquired Performable, where he was co-founder and VP of Customer Experience. He has written the current incarnation of the Bokardo blog for six years with articles about interface design, social interaction, identity, recommendations and other issues related to design. He is also the co-founder of 52 Weeks of UX, a premier UX blog with a strong readership of over 10,000 UX professionals.
Why. Although he has a background as interface designer, he does know a thing or two about UX as well, to say the least.
Who. Jane Pyle is Lead user experience designer of mobile apps at Genentech. She specializes in creating engaging, intuitive experiences for mobile applications and has over 15 years of design experience.
Why. Hands-on experience with all stages of a user-centered design process including: user research, sketching, user testing, wireframing, interaction design, visual design, branding, and promotion. That should be enough to convince you.
